Madonna is being sued by none other than a fan. The Queen of Pop caught the ire of s Florida man because she planned to start her concert late.
As reported by Page Six, Madonna’s 10:30 concert is not sitting well with a male fan, causing him to file a class-action lawsuit. Nate Hollander, the said fan, reportedly bought three tickets to see the star on December 17.
The show is going to be held at Filmore Miami Beach and is slated to start at 8:30 PM. Unfortunately, however, for the man, Madonna’s team deemed that too early and changed it to two hours later. Hollander is not having it, and not only did he change his mind about watching his idol perform, but he also decided this merits a lawsuit.
According to NBC, the man already filed the lawsuit a week ago, on November 4 in the federal court in Miami-Dade County. On the suit, the man’s indignation that concertgoers had to watch their idol perform late and go home early the next morning was highlighted.
“Ticketholders [have] to work and go to school the next day, which prevent[s] them from attending a concert that would end at around 1:00 a.m.,” the suit read, according to the outlet.
Hollander claimed that he spent a total of $1,024.95 on all the tickets. He said that the change in time cost him his chance to watch the concert as well as the chance to recoup his expenses. He said the time change caused the ticket prices to plunge and make reselling them not easy, if not downright impossible.
He’s also suing Live Nation for the fiasco, which is the events firm behind this concert. Madonna’s camp is yet to comment.
It may sound funny for some, but this suing fan is hardly the person who got angry with the change in time of the Madame X Tour. As reported by Mashable, many concertgoers really got angry by the change.
It remains to be seen though whether Madonna will even care. The star has a reputation for being late on her concerts anyway. She even bragged about it one time. “There’s something that you all need to understand,” she said during a recent show in Las Vegas. “And that is that a queen is never late.”
