UK Woman Shocked To Find Tooth In Chinese Food Order

A customer discovered a molar tucked in the meal she ordered at a Chinese restaurant in Worcester, United Kingdom.

On Oct. 26, Stephanie McDonough expressed her distress on Facebook after finding a tooth in her pork curry meal which she bought at Newtown Road Cantonese Takeaway. She uploaded images as proof and as of press time, the post has already garnered more than 5,000 shares.

In the caption, she wrote: “DO NOT USE NEWTOWN CHINESE WORCESTER!!! Trying to say it’s just gristle from the pork then said it could be from the onion, UHM ITS A F*****G TOOTH. SHARE SHARE SHARE. any advice on who to call ect please. I HOLD FULL COPYRIGHT TO THESE PICTURES.”

In an interview with the Worcester News, the 29-year-old complainant described the incident, saying she was eating their ordered meal at their home, together with her partner David Burrows when the 38-year old suddenly felt a hard object as he was chewing his food. He spat it out, only to see it was an actual tooth.

McDonough told the news outlet, it was definitely not theirs. So they assumed it came from the providers of the said restaurant. “It’s more a concern of how it got there,” McDonough stressed out. “Was it spat in there or (did it fall)? I’m 90% sure it’s a human tooth. It could have come from their food suppliers or wherever,” she added.

She immediately called the manager of Newtown but she refuted McDonough’s allegations, saying it might have been animal gristle or onion. “She was having none of it. She was trying to come up with different things that it could have been. It was a tooth,” McDonough said. To make up for what happened, the complainants were reimbursed by Newtown for the curry meal, which was about £6.30 out of the £17.70 total bill.

However, the restaurant is still up for inspection after McDonough filed a complaint with the Food Standards Agency’s National Food Crime Unit.
